GREEN TARA (Tib. Droljang)
Green Tara grants protection and relief from suffering. Called “the mother of all Buddhas”, she promises assistance when called upon and is seen as the embodiment of active compassion. Her right hand bestows fearlessness while her left hand (in the gesture of supreme enlightenment) holds the Utpala flower representing her knowledge of the three times. The open flower reveals the past, the closed the future and the just opening the present. With devotion to her and doing her practice, both inner and outer obstacles can be overcome.

- Full Workshop: Friday 14th Sept 6:30 pm to Wednesday 19th Sept 4:00 pm
2. Weekend only: Saturday 15th 9:00 am to Sunday 16th 4.30 pm
Accommodation: is available at Chenrezig Institute’s on-site accommodation. . We recommend booking early as it does book out. You can have a look at options HERE. There are also B&B option very close to the centre.
Food: is available through Chenrezig Institutes wonderful Big Love Cafe. You will need to pre-book meals and can do that HERE.
There is coffee and tea facilities at the Art Studio as well as microwave and fridge.
Materials: may need to be purchased separately depending on your own supplies. A list of required items to bring will be shared with participants prior to the course commencement.
Chenrezig Art Studio will also be offering traditional Tibetan Tanka canvases for sale for those of you who want to draw or paint in the traditional way. Cost and process will be shared along with your materials list.
What you can realistically hope to complete: To draw and complete a full thangka can take professional thangka painters a few weeks. Our workshops with Andy will guide you into the drawing and then commencement to Paint of your thangka.
Chenrezig Arts Studio has a Thangka Painters Cooperative which meets monthly to paint together with some of the painters at mentor and workshop teacher level so working together to complete our work is an ongoing and very enjoyable process.
You can also very comfortable work on your art at home and link into the support at the Art Studio as you need it. When you leave the workshop we will give you contact details to stay in touch and get personal advice if you need.

The artist Andy Weber spent seven years living and studying the iconography art of Tibetan Buddhism under the guidance of accomplished masters in India and Nepal.
His unique style of authentic images for visualization are highly respected not only by the growing number of Western Buddhists but also by Tibetan Lamas of all traditions, many of whom have commissioned his work. His thangka paintings (= Tibetan scroll paintings) can be seen in Buddhist centres and temples throughout the world including the Potala Palace in Lhasa and his images have become well known and popular through numerous publications.
With over 35 years of experience Andy Weber and his students offer their artwork, their services, and their experience to the wider Dharma community.
